Obituary of Sidney "Sid" Bird

Bird, Sidney John "Sid":  55, Halifax, formerly of Pines Glen, NB, passed away unexpectedly on June 15, 2013.  Sid was a very friendly man who had many friends.  He was a qualified mechanic and carpet layer.  His passion was old cars, he loved fixing them up.  He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who loved him.  He leaves behind his significant other, Alecia Richards, his former spouse, Joanne Bird, a step-daughter, Melissa Sawlor, his three precious step-grandchildren, Amy, Jordan and Anastasia, his mother, Ellenore, brothers, Walter Bird and Terri Bird, and sisters, Nancy Chetouane, and Jean Souhier.  He was predeceased by his father John Sidney Bird and a sister, Linda MacDonald.   Cremation has taken place under the care of JA Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax (477.5601) where visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8.  A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 24, 2013 at 1 PM in the funeral home chapel.  Interment will take place at a later date.  Words of comfort may be sent to the family by visiting www.walkerfh.com
