Obituary of Arthur Francis Bowser
68, Halifax, it is with great sadness we announce the passing of Arthur Bowser on June14, 2013, after a brave fight with cancer. Art was born in Halifax and was a son of the late Arthur and Ethel (MacDonald) Bowser.
He worked for 15 years with Acadian Lines, he loved shooting darts, playing cards and running away with the fair, but his passion was fishing with his friends. He was also the Vice President for ten years and on the Board of Directors for ten years with the MacIntosh Run Co-op.
Surviving is his wife Margaret "Peggy"; daughter, Amanda, Ont., sisters Frances (Owen), Eileen, Kathleen, all of Halifax, Barbara (Peter), BC.; step son, Thomas (Kim), Amherst; sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Mike) Drake; in-laws Arthur and Bertha and Michael, all of Kentville; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother Patrick (Ellen) and step daughter Tina.
Cremation has taken place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601) 149 Herring Cove Rd. where a visitation will be held Tuesday June 18 from 12-1 p.m., followed a Celebration of his Life at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. A reception will follow at the MacIntosh Run Co-op Office, 47 Emerald Cres. Halifax. Interment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the 7A Palliative Care Unit, QEII.
