Obituary of Doris Margaret "Dolly" Snair

75, Halifax, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on June 3, 2013, in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Martha (Sampson) Cookson. Dolly was an avid fan of bingo, bowling and golf. She is survived by sons, John, Queensland; Mark "Steven" (Toby), Halifax; Derick (Josephine), Hubbards; daughter, Kathy Kidson (Larry), Halifax; brothers, Freddie Cookson; Gordon Sampson; sisters, Linda MacKenzie; Sharon MacDonald; Mary Wilson, all of Halifax; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Arnold, brothers, Richard Cookson, Russell Gallant, John Cookson; sister, Sheila Laviolette and grandson Ed Snair. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601) 149 Herring Cove Rd., where visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Sunday June 9. Memorial service to be held from the funeral home chapel 10 a.m. Monday June 10, Fr. Duncan McMaster as celebrant. Interment to follow in Gate Of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville. Donations in memory of, may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
