Obituary of Geneva Elizabeth "Betty" Taylor

Taylor, Geneva Elizabeth ("Betty"):  75, Halifax, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Maplestone Enhanced Care.  Born in Poodiac, New Brunswick, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Alice (Allaby) Pollock.  Throughout her working career, she worked at various places as a secretary, finally retiring from the IWK Psychiatry Dept.  In her early years, she enjoyed bowling and camping with family and friends.  She will sadly be missed by her children, David, Halifax, Marilyn (Dwight) Graves, Bayside, NS, and Kathy (Jerry) Way, Herring Cove, NS, a daughter-in-law, Paula Taylor, as well as a brother, Norman (Lorraine) Pollock, Sussex, NB, a sister, Frances Carr, Fredericton, NB, and step-siblings, Murray, Vera, Gwendolyn and Phyllis.  She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Sheridan, Zachary, Sarah, and Ashton.  Betty was predeceased by her loving husband, Clarence, in 2005, two sons, Stephen (in infancy) and Richard (2011), brother, Ronald, sisters, Marie, Charlotte, Ruth, Winnie, and Dot, half brother, Kenneth, two half sisters, Willa and Gertie, and step-siblings, Allen, Eileen, Bobby, Isabelle, Fred and Donald,   By request, cremation has taken place under the care of JA Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax (477.5601), where visitation will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013 from 7-9 PM.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 2 pm from the funeral home chapel, followed by a reception at the funeral home.  Burial will take place at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery, Sussex, NB.  Donations in memory of Betty may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia.  Words of comfort may be sent to the family by visiting www.walkerfh.com
