Obituary of James Allen Johnston

Johnston, J. Allen, 74 of Halifax passed away Tuesday, January 29th, 2013, with his loving family by his side. He was the son of the late William "Bill" and Catherine "Kay" (Blackburn) Johnston. Allen was proud to serve with NATO in Germany and was also a jack of all trades. He will be sadly missed by his children, Kathryn (Jeff), Lisa (Chris), and Chris (Shelly), grandchildren, Matthew, Megan, Nicholas, Amanda, Tristan, Ayden and Jack, brothers, Bill, Wilf, Don, Art, David, Ian, Richard and sisters, Marilyn, Grace, Debbie and many nieces and nephews. Allen was predeceased by brothers Bob, Ted, Doug and sister, Carolyn. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd, 149 Herring Cove Road. Visitation will be held today, Friday, February 1 from 1p.m. to 2p.m. with the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Reception to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Vimy 27, 6158 Almon Street 4p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia.
