Obituary of Mary-Patricia Cole

Cole, Mary-Patricia – Halifax. We are sad to announce the passing of a very special Daughter, Sister and Aunt.  After an amazing life beating the odds of Cerebral Palsy, Mary-Patricia passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2013 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on March 4th 1964. Mary-Patricia loved life and taught everyone who knew her there was joy and laughter in the simple every day.  Mary-Patricia loved to be around her friends and family, usually playing cards and listening to country music.  Mary-Patricia enjoyed many of the activities at the Bloomfield Centre and was a Special Olympian and active bowler.  She will be greatly missed by her Mother, Jean, her sisters Cathie (Jim), Bev, Carolyn (Will), Denise (Johnny); nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews, and her special friend Peter Gregory as well as other family and friends.  Mary-Patricia was predeceased by her father, Leonard; sister, Bridget; brother-in-law, Pat, and several Aunts and Uncles. The family would like to thank and offer appreciation to the caring staff of 5A-VG who made her feel at home. Also to Dr. John Booth and Dr. Ryan Henneberry for the support, and kindness shown. Arrangements are under the direction of J.A Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd, 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, (477-5601), where visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 15 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 16 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with a reception to follow. Interment to take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville. Flowers are appreciated or donations to a charity of your choice.
