Obituary of Shirley Mildred Maynard

78, Halifax, passed away suddenly January 6, 2013, at home. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Margaret (Young) Kenney. She is survived by loving husband, George; sons, David (Joanne), Spry Bay; Robert (Maddie), Herring Cove; Pat (Krista), Union Corner; Mike (Colette) Dover Center, Ont.; daughter, Terry-Ann Escobar (Victor), Calgary, Alta.; sister, Betty Boutilier, Lake Echo; grandchildren, Colleen, Caitlin, Jenna, Carley, Ashley, Bryce; and several nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by brother Kenneth; sisters Gladys, Audrey, Eileen, Pearl and Sylvia. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601) 149 Herring Cove Rd., where visitation will be held Thursday January 10 from 6-8 p.m.. Funeral service will be Friday January 11 at 1 p.m. from the funeral home chapel, Rev. Ellen Wilson officiating, reception to follow. Interment will be attended by the immediate family only in Oakridge Memory Gardens. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Canadian Diabetes Association.
