Obituary of Margaret Mary Power

97, Halifax, formerly of Flat Rock, NL., passed away peacefully November 27, 2012 in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Horse Cove NL., she was a daughter of the late William and Mary Whelan. Margaret leaves behind son Francis (Annette), Miramichi, NB., daughter; Patricia (Richard) Bentley, Halifax, grandchildren Darren (Kim), Michael (Kim) Bentley, great grandchildren; Andrew, Jeffery, Jeremy, Kiara, Tye, several nieces and nephews, and special friends Albert and Evett. She was predeceased by husband Cornelius, brother; William Whelan, sister; Elizabeth Taylor, great grandson, Adam. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601) 149 Herring Cove Rd., where visitation will be held Thursday November 29 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be Friday November 30 at 10:30 a.m. from the St. Catherine Of Siena Roman Catholic Church, Bayers Rd. Cremation to follow. A reception will be held in the church hall after service. Interment to take place at a later date in Flat Rock, Newfoundland. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
