Obituary of Gladys Gertrude MacPherson

MACPHERSON (Munroe), Gladys Gertrude - 61, of Halifax, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, delivered to heaven while holding the hands of her sons and with close family by her side at the QEII. Born in Sheet Harbour, Halifax Co., N.S., on December 11, 1950, she was a daughter of the late Henry Donaldson "Harry" Munroe and Dorothy Ina (Boutlier) Buchanan. She was a cherished mother and grandmother. She was funny, spiritual and had a beautiful soul. She is survived by sons, Adam MacPherson (Naomi LeBlanc), Dallas Dickie (Sarah Jollymore), Halifax; Chad Dickie, Sudbury; grandchildren, Jeremy, Chara, Justin, Brooklyn, Lauren and MacKenzie; sisters, Judy McNair, Ruth Aldrich, Leola Behie, Liz Crosby, Alberta Murray and Francine; brothers, Lyndel, Graham and Barry Munroe.  She was predeceased by sister, Bonnie and brother, Glenard. Special thanks to Sarah, Naomi and the family for the love, support and strength they give us everyday. Arrangements are under the direction of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. In keeping with Gladys’ wishes there will be no visitation or service. A private family graveside service will take place at a later date in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lower Sackville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nova Scotia division Canadian Cancer Society in her memory.
