Obituary of Eileen Sampson

Halifax, 87 in February, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the VG Site, QEII. Our mother and best friend went home to be with the love of her life, Fred Sampson, who predeceased her in October of 2009. She came to Canada in 1945 as a young war bride and lived out her life in Nova Scotia. Eileen loved life and enjoyed family gatherings, good times and a good laugh. She will be dearly missed by those who knew her and will always be loved by her family and friends. She raised 7 children and is survived by all of them, Harold, Leslie, Elizabeth, Richard, Nancy, Joyce and Helene; 20 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers, Harold and George; sisters, Mary and Betty, who still live in Europe. Arrangements are under the direction of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax (477-5601), where visitation will be held on Friday, May 4 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, May 5 from St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church, with a reception to follow; interment to be held at a later date. Donations in Eileen’s memory may be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
