Obituary of Constance MacInnis
MACINNIS (Grégoire), Constance Bernice; Halifax, 91, passed away on the morning of February 22, 2012. Born in Halifax to the late John and Daisy Paulina (Wood) Grégoire, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Constance served in the Canadian Women’s Army Corps from 1942-45. Prior to serving in the army she helped in the war effort by working in a munitions factory in Québec. After returning to civilian life she married and became a homemaker and mother. Her favourite things were gardening, reading historical novels and newspapers. She also had a great interest in politics. She will be sadly missed by her only daughter Dianne. She is survived by nieces and nephews, Sharon Saunders, Ottawa; Lynne Beland, Dartmouth; Micheal MacInnis, Halifax; Robert Grégoire, Boston; Laura Mader, Chicago; Eleanor Mader, Arizona; Donald Gauthreau, Australia; Al MacInnis and Christine. She was predeceased by her husband John; sisters, Mrs. Elsie Gouthreau, Dorothy Grégoire and Marjorie Grégoire; brothers, Guy D. and Carl; also half brothers Cecil, Guy, Billy, Harold, Frank, John and Eddie; half sisters Violet, Nellie and Mary Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd, (902) 477-5601. Graveside service and interment to take place on Tuesday February 28 at 11am at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Mumford Road.
