Obituary of Jean Merietta Conway
Halifax, passed away December 25, 2011 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born on December 14, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Freda (Gallant) "Nanny Fu-Fu" McKay. Jean spent most of her life in Halifax, Dartmouth, sometime in the Valley, which she enjoyed the country living. Jean enjoyed family time very much. She spent many years assisting her family with child care. She was a wonderful grandmother, enjoying day trips with the grandchildren. One of Jean’s happiest times was at the age of 60 when she took her first plane flight to Alberta. She enjoyed it so much, she went back two years later. Jean was always there to listen, many phone calls and miles apart. Jean spent her last five years at the Gordon B. Isnor Manor, where she had many friends. As we remember Jean, once she got to know you, she was a loyal friend. Beat cancer once, battled it for a second time. She is survived by children Michael (Sarah), Antigonish, Elizabeth Forbes (Ken),LeDuc AB., Freddie (Kathaleen),Sackville, Peter (Leslie),Dartmouth, brother; Fred (Kathy),Dartmouth; many grandchildren; one great-grandchild; former husband Mike Conway, Halifax; former common-law Earnest Murley, Dartmouth. She was predeceased by sister; Mary Boudreau. Arrangements are under the care J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601) 149 Herring Cove Rd., where visitation will be held Thursday December 29 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., with a service of remembrance for jean to be held Saturday December 31 11 a.m., in the funeral home chapel, followed by a reception.
