Obituary of William Kasper Willie Mootrey

82, Halifax, passed away April 3, 2011 in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in St. John’s, NF, he was the son of the late Arthur and Cecilia (Hanrahan) Mootrey. Willie is survived by former wife, Isabel Power; sons; Jimmy, Carl, John, Arthur, Anthony and their spouses; daughters, Marguerite Jones, Elizabeth Mootrey, Susan Duke, Rosalie Case, Lillian Mootrey, Mary Mootrey, Doreen Blisner and their spouses; sister, Lillian; 29 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He was predeceased by partner Mary, son Billy, daughter Theresa Osmond, sisters Madeline and Theresa. Arrangements are under the care of J.A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601) where visitation will be held today April 6 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., with funeral service Thursday April 7 at 11a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Russell Saulnier officiating. Interment to take place at a later date. Memorial donations in Willie’s name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Canadian Cancer Society or Canadian Diabetes Association.
