Obituary of Dawn Olivia Jean Gray

Halifax, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at home. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Olivia Jane (Guy) Preston. Dawn was an active gardener and enjoyed bird watching. She was a devoted and loving mother to Carla Hatcher. She leaves behind her daughters, Diane Ernst, Cape Breton, and Carla Hatcher, Halifax; a loving sister to Edie MacAusland and Audrey Gray; a nanny to Randy “nanny’s special angel” and John Hatcher, Sarah Ernst; a special friend to Gordon Barnes; niece, Leah Marryatt; nephews, Robert MacAusland, William and Donnie Pratt, Cory Gray. She was predeceased by former husband, Carl Hatcher and son, Michael Gray. Cremation has taken place under the care of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601). By request there will be no visitation. A service will be held on May 5 in St. Paul’s United Church, Spryfield (477-3937). In lieu of flowers, donations in Dawn’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
