Obituary of Donald Joseph Dempsey

Dempsey, Donald Joseph - 41, Herring Cove, passed away on June 24, 2011. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donald - son, dad, grampy, brother and uncle. Donald was just getting to know his two beautiful grandchildren. He was a member of the ILA Checkers Union - Local 1341 for many years. He enjoyed being around the sea and doing carpentry work. Donald is survived by his parents, Donald and Dorothy (Forrest), children, Adam (Nicole), Dartmouth and Alicia (Matt), Hubbards, granddaughter Brooklyn and grandson Cohen, sisters, Darlene Fahie (Terry), Sheila Harvey (Donald), Sara Roberts (Raymond), brother, Everett (Lori), all of Herring Cove, and his companion Mary, several nieces and nephews, many aunts, uncles and cousins. Donald loved life and will be missed by all. Arrangements are under the care of JA Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, NS (477-5601), where visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 28 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 29 at 10 AM in St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, Herring Cove, Fr. Zachory Romanowsky as celebrant; interment to follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Herring Cove. A reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
