Obituary of Kelly Dawn Gorman
GORMAN-COWIE, Kelly Dawn, Halifax. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Kelly passed away on Friday, November 11, 2011, at home with her loving husband Paul and son Dillon by her side after a courageous but lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of Patricia and Bill Gorman. She is survived by husband, Paul; sons, Shane, Dillon; granddaughter, Emaliyah; brothers, Kevin, Keith, Kory. She will be missed by her precious cat Baby. She was predeceased by both sets of grand-parents and granddaughter, Nevaeh Dawn. Kelly had a deep respect for the Canadian Armed Forces. Being a military spouse, she was employed for many years with 4 Wing Cold Lake Air Base, Alberta. After returning home to Halifax, she was employed at the World Trade and Convention Centre and had a strong passion for her job. Kelly had a fond love for horses, hockey and dancing. She had many friends all across Canada who will miss her dearly especially those closest to her. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Canadian Armed Forces for their open support, 11th floor of VG Site, QEII Cancer Ward, the VON's and especially Dr. Robert Hart and his team of surgeons, Dr. Mary Davis and everyone who supported Paul, Kelly and Dillon through the past 18 months for their care and compassion during this difficult time. Cremation has taken place under the care of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601) 149 Herring Cove Rd. Halifax, where visitation will be held Tuesday, November 15 from 1-2 p.m., and funeral service to follow in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society .
