Obituary of James Richard Jim Saxton
90, Halifax, peacefully passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2011 in the QEII Health Sciences Center. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late James Thomas and Mary Hilda (Doyle) Saxton. Jim proudly served in the Second World War. Following his service he worked as an engineer with DND Windsor Park for many years. He was a very generous, kind hearted man and a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his son, George and granddaughter, Tara Saxton; brothers, Jack (Marjorie), Halifax; Bernie, Ontario; sister, Marie (Ivan), Halifax; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Vera; brother, Joe. Arrangements are under the direction of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd (477-5601). In keeping with Jimâs wishes, funeral services will be held in the spring. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of the QEII, 8.4 for their compassionate care and support.
