Obituary of Linda J. (Rose) Maurais

MAURAIS, (Rose) Linda June – 56, Halifax, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2011, in Arborstone Enhanced Care, after a long courageous battle with MS. Born in Halifax on August 31, 1954, she was a daughter of the late Garnet and Juanita (Newcombe) Rose. In her early years, Linda was an Au Pair for a number of families. She loved taking care of children and also seniors at Northwood Manor. She was a very caring and loving person with a very big heart. She loved her dogs, Angel and Teddy. Linda was an accomplished artist in ceramics and had many friends. She was most happy when surrounded by family. She will lovingly be remembered and never forgotten by her sisters, Donna MacLeod (Rose), Halifax; Annette Pacquette (Luc), Quebec; Susan Rose(Sharon), Toronto; brothers, Garnet Jr. “Ducky” Rose (Theresa), Halifax; Gary Rose, Halifax; Gregory Rose (Paul), Vancouver; Terry Rose, Quebec; nieces and nephews, Tim, Travis and Taylor Rose; Tyler Rose; Claire Pacquette; Carrie, Kelly, Catherine and Michael MacLeod; Deja Oliver-MacLeod. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by niece, Margaret Catherine Pacquette. Special thanks to the staff of Arborstone for their very kind and compassionate care given to Linda and her family; also to Catherine Rose (her cousin) for her spiritual guidance, care and support. Arrangements are under the direction of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. In keeping with Linda’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 2 at 1 PM in St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Fr. Frank Pellerin as celebrant; interment to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville.
