Obituary of Thomas P. "Tom" Foster

FOSTER, Thomas Paul “Tom” – 59, Halifax. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tom on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 in the Dartmouth General Hospital, with loved ones by his side. Born in Halifax on August 13, 1951, he was a son of Edith Foster and the late Thomas Foster Sr. Tom worked for Metro Transit for 15 years and later worked part time at MacPhee Pontiac. His loving daughter Tina Marie greets him with loving open arms in heaven. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. He will lovingly be remembered and never forgotten by his wife, Michelle (Giroux); sons, Tommy (Kim), Amherst; Walley Ryan, Prospect; John Ryan, at home; Michael (Rosanna), Halifax; many grandchildren; sisters, Barb, Donna, and Eileen, all of Dartmouth and Linda, Lower Sackville; brother, DeWhite, BC; He was predeceased by his daughter, Tina Marie. Arrangements are under the direction of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax (477-5601), where visitation will be held on Saturday, January 22 from 11 AM – 1 PM. A service of remembrance will follow at 1 PM from the funeral home chapel, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom’s memory may be made to Brentwood Recovery Home, 2335 Dougall Ave., Windsor, ON N8X 1S9.
