Obituary of Granville Clifton Gray

72, Sambro, passed away with his loving family by his side on Friday October 22,2010 in the Halifax Infirmary. Born in Sambro Head, he was a son of the late Austin and Gertrude (Findlay) Gray. Granville was a commercial fisherman up until his retirement two years ago. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 50 years; Carol (Monk); son; Victor (Kim), Sambro; daughter Jo-Anne (Rick), Halifax; brother; Keith (Marg); sister; Nancy Marryatt (Hughie), Sambro; grandsons; Bob and Mark; mother-in-law Frances Monk; sister-in-laws; Marg Monk (Tom), Barb Power (Randy), all of Eastern Shore and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sons; Peter and Andrew, both in infancy; father-in-law; Allan Monk. Cremation has taken place under the care of J.A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601). Respecting his wishes, a graveside service will be held Friday October 29, 2010 in the St. James United Church Cemetery at 3 p.m., Rev. Keltie van Binbsergen officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. James United Church, Sambro or charity of one’s choice.
