Obituary of Malcolm Solomon Greeley

85, Leiblin Park Halifax, Nova Scotia, passed away September 24, 2010, in the Halifax Infirmary. Born in Portugal Cove, Newfoundland in 1924 to the late Clement and Sarah Greeley. He was the husband of the late Marion Greeley. Malcolm served as a Chief Petty Officer (engineering branch) in the Royal Canadian Navy/Canadian Armed Forces serving from July 27, 1943 ending October 21, 1969. He was a veteran of the Second World War and was awarded the 1939-‘45 Star, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, War Medal 1939-45, Canadian Forces Decoration and Clasp. He was a chartered and life time member of the Atlantic Chief and Petty Officers Association. After retiring from the service he worked as a Chief Engineer at the Nova Scotia Hotel, Cadillac Fairview and Standard Life. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his 10 children, Shirley Kennedy, Malcolm, Louise Harper, Douglas, Doreen Logan, Terry, Robert, Caritha, Angela Wilcox, Elizabeth Higenell; 16 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place under the direction of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. In keeping with Malcolm’s wishes there will be no visitation or service. Donations in memory of Malcolm may be made to Veterans Affairs.
