Obituary of Terrance Benjamin Patey

PATEY, Terrance “Ben” Benjamin, age 47, of Halifax.

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Terrance “Ben” Benjamin Patey on June 4, 2026.

Ben was known for his generous nature, quick sense of humour, and unwavering determination. He was always thinking about the next big idea and approached life with the belief that anything was possible. Ben never let doubt stand in his way. If he believed in something, he pursued it wholeheartedly, even when he was the only one who could see the vision. His confidence and perseverance were qualities that defined him.

Above all, Ben loved his family. He is survived by his parents, Cynthia Patey and Herbert Patey; his sister, April Patey; his children, Amanda Pearsons, Jessie Patey, Talynn Patey, Dylan Slaunwhite, and Jayden Slaunwhite;his uncle, Tim Clark; and  newphew, Alija Patey. He also leaves behind many beloved grandchildren who brought great joy to his life.

Ben is also survived by his mother and father-in law, Linda and Brian Brooks along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Ben will be remembered for his larger-than-life ideas, his determination to chase his dreams, his generosity, and his ability to bring laughter to those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Ben’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Cynthia’s co-workers at Northwood for their kindness, love, and support during this difficult time.

Cremation has taken place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held in the Penthouse of Northwood Halifax Campus at 2615 Northwood Terrace, Halifax, NS, on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
